Chinese Lending Prime Unchanged; Asian Markets Falling

China
Chinese benchmark lending rates remain unchanged, leaving one-year and five-year loan prime rates at 3.45% and 4.2%, respectively. Chinese markets plummeted, with the CSI falling 0.4% to close at 3,705.69.
Japan
Per Japan's trade balance data, in August, the trade deficit has decreased by 2/3 while imports and exports fell less, defying expectations. Nikkei 225 declined 0.66%. The Topix index lost 1%, closing the third red candle in a row.
South Korea
Wholesale inflation jumped for the first time since July last year. The Kospi index rose 0.02%, dodging a wider sell-off. Kosdaq fell 0.13%.
Hong Kong
The Hang Seng fell 0.36% against the backdrop of the rate decision.
